Overcoming Hang When Running FDISK

FDISK is a DOS version of the program to create a partition the hard disk, the computer can sometimes hangs when running FDISK, or fail to make and save the partition. This can occur include:
  1. Some bios have the feature to protect the track 0 of a virus attack. So that would cause FDISK to hang. Therefore, make sure disable this feature in a state before using FDISK. Once finished creating the partition, reformat and install the operating system, after that you can re-enable this feature.

  2. In addition to the above, you check the cables and make sure the program you run is not corrupt. If still fails, you try to create a smaller partition and make sure the jumper settings on the hard disk properly.
